We can already talk about the completion of the project “Supporting the Implementation of the Odessa Cultural Development Strategy”, which we implemented together with the Department of Culture of the Odessa City Council with the support of EU4Culture.

From August 2023 to September 2024, we conducted a series of research, educational initiatives, and opened access to Odessa's cultural heritage through innovative digital tools.

📙Research:

▪A sociological study “Cultural needs of Odessites and perceptions of the Odessa myth” was prepared in cooperation with the NGO “Promotion of Intercultural Cooperation”.

▪In-depth research of the historical and cultural myth of Odessa was conducted, culminating in the creation of the essay “Odessa Historical and Cultural Myth”.

📙Open databases - several catalogs of Odessa's heritage have been created and opened, including:

▪“Places of Mourning in Odessa” - a digital catalog of cemeteries.

▪“Catalog of Crosses in Kuialnyk” - digitization of a Cossack cemetery with burials from 1791.

▪“Fragile Collection” - catalog of 50 porcelain items from the Bleschunov Museum.

▪Open database of 3D models of ten cult symbols of Odessa as part of the Odesa.Decolonization project.

📙Strategic documents:

▪Preparation of the Odessa Cultural Development Strategy for 2025-2035, which will be submitted to the Odessa City Council for consideration.

▪Creation of the “Guide to Arranging Beautiful Odessa Signs” for commercial structures in the city.

▪Creation of the “Guide to Preserving Odessa's Cultural Heritage”, describing the handling in the historical environment and emphasizing the importance of including Odessa in the UNESCO list.

📙Educational projects:

▪Together with the city's cultural stakeholders, we organized 14 offline lectures about the city, which are now available for viewing on our YouTube channel.

▪Development of a 4-hour online course on the “Odessa Cultural Development Strategy” on the “Understandable” platform, available to everyone working with the city's culture.

Most of the documents are posted on our website and available for viewing.
