Keeping Patients Warm: The Role of active warming in Prehospital care.

At PULSE, we prioritize realistic training conditions for prehospital blood transfusion in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Maintaining normothermia is critical in trauma care, which is why we integrate Euroheater into our training scenarios.

During our courses, we use Euroheater to warm the tent for the final scenarios and actively heat the "burrito roll" with simulated casualties. This highlights the critical role of active warming solutions alongside use of blood warmers in preventing hypothermia — one of the factors in the lethal triad, or lethal diamond if you will, that threatens casualties in hemorrhagic shock.

Beyond training, we delivered Euroheater to the forward medical facility of the 73rd Naval Special Operations centre, where it is now used to warm patients in operational conditions.

A huge thank you to Fritt Ukraina and Frank Rebnord for supplying this essential equipment. Your support directly impacts the quality of medical care for our defenders!

Stop bleeding fast, use whole blood, warm the patient and supplement calcium — that’s the way to go.
