Unfortunately, many children with autism often remain outside the education system. Due to manifestations of undesirable behavior and difficulties with adaptation, they are transferred to home schooling, which further complicates socialization and secondarily "autisticizes" them – children lose communication skills and the ability to interact with peers. This significantly reduces their chances of finding their place in society in the future and living a normal life among other people.
At the same time, there is no effective support system and pre-professional training for youth with intellectual disabilities in Ukraine. After finishing school, most of them find themselves in complete isolation – without the opportunity to study, work, engage in their favorite activities, or even just communicate with peers. Often, the only options left are a secluded life within the family or a psychiatric boarding school.
Social isolation for people with autism can last a lifetime. Many do not have friends or acquaintances at all, even on social networks.
We are convinced that every child and young person deserves a decent life, regardless of their health condition.
