Early blood transfusion significantly increases the chances of saving critically wounded soldiers. Together with our partners, we have already implemented this practice in six combat units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, training medics, equipping them with the best medical gear available, and facilitating the systematic use of whole blood and blood products.
In 2024, over 150 medical professionals completed official training in prehospital blood transfusion. This training was provided by PULSE in cooperation with the Ukrainian Center for Transplant Coordination (UTCC), establishing a legal foundation for our trainees to perform blood transfusions after successfully completing the course and passing the examination.
Thanks to Vodafone Ukraine, four Marine Corps brigades have been fully equipped to implement blood transfusions. Including CSafe storage units, MEQU blood warmers, donor-recipient kits for FWB by Sidus Vitae and FARMA and all other vital supplies for a turn-key solution.
With the support of PULSE community, international and corporate donors, the 73rd Naval Center of Special Operations has received a similar set of equipment, along with additional capabilities to bring blood even further forward.
Through the matching contributions from our latest fundraiser, we were able to purchase an additional set of equipment and deliver it to the medical personnel of the 56th Mechanized Brigade. Many lives have already been saved. But there’s still a lot of work ahead.
🩸 A long list of trained units is still waiting for the necessary equipment to start saving lives now.
